Ark daredevils gear up for abseil

Ark Cancer Centre Charity supporters who have a head for heights are set to abseil down an iconic Hampshire landmark to raise funds for the charity.

The ultimate Emirates Spinnaker Tower experience gives members of the public an opportunity to abseil down the side of the spectacular Portsmouth building.

Various dates between Friday, March 30 and Monday, August 27 have been designated as Public Abseil dates, and several Ark supporters have already signed up for the breathtaking challenge.

On Saturday, April 7, a team from Ark Our Partner supporter Beaufort Financial and Arkrider Anna O’Shea, from Winkworth Estate Agents in Basingstoke, will be among the first group of Ark fundraisers to abseil down the Emirates Spinnaker Tower.

And on Monday, August 27, a seven-strong team from Ark Our Partner supporter Basingstoke law firm Clarke & Son Solicitors will be taking on the same challenge as part of their bid to raise £15,000 for Ark in 2018-19.

Mark Jones, director of fundraising and communications at Ark Cancer Centre Charity, said: “Thank you to all of our daredevil Ark supporters who take on the abseil challenge, and thanks to everyone who sponsors them. Every pound raised makes a difference, and I hope our intrepid fundraisers get plenty of support.”
