Bison and Zizzi serve up support for Ark

Basingstoke Bison players, fans and the team at Zizzi Restaurant have served up a fundraising boost for Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

Long-time Bison sponsors Zizzi opened their doors to Bison fans on Wednesday, November 8, for the latest of their popular nights which saw some of the Herd become waiters for the evening.

Bison head coach Doug Sheppard and several members of the team were on hand to serve, and chat to, some of the loyal fans of the Herd who came along to the Top of The Town restaurant.

It was another winning performance from the on-form Bison as a raffle and silent auctions for various prizes, including signed Bison shirts and sticks and a Zizzi gift basket, resulted in more than £600 being raised on the night.

Doug said: “The Bison and Zizzi teams are delighted with the success of the latest charity night. It was great to see such a good turnout, and the players were delighted to meet, greet and serve some of our fabulous supporters.”

Mark Jones, director of fundraising and communications for Ark Cancer Centre Charity, said: “Every pound counts towards the charity's £5million target, and Ark Cancer Centre Charity is grateful for this generous show of support from Doug, the players, the team at Zizzi, and everyone who came along to this special night.

"Ark Cancer Centre Charity is proud to be a community partner of the Bison, and we hope that many Ark supporters will come along and support the team over the coming weeks and months as the Bison continue their quest for silverware this season."

Two more Bison and Zizzi charity nights are scheduled to take place in support of Ark in the new year. The dates for the diary are Wednesday, January 17, and Wednesday, March 7. To book places, call Zizzi on 01256 358300.
