Clarke & Son round up more support for Ark

They are great Our Partner supporters of Ark Cancer Centre Charity – so another round of applause please for Clarke & Son Solicitors for organising a charity rounders evening.

The fun contest saw four teams taking on each other in a round-robin contest at Basingstoke RFC's Down Grange ground.

A team from RSM Basingstoke were the overall winners and were delighted to take home the winners' wine.

Mark Jones, director of fundraising and communications at Ark Cancer Centre Charity, said: "Many thanks to the team at Clarke & Son for organising another fun, fundraising event in support of Ark, and thanks to all those who came along and took part.

"The Clarke & Son team are amazing supporters of Ark Cancer Centre Charity – and this year, they have set their sights on reaching a £50,000 goal as they continue their Charity of the Year fundraising for Ark into a third year.

"Their showcase fundraiser for 2017-18 is a Charity Ball taking place at Oakley Hall on Friday, September 22, and there are still a few tickets left for anyone who wants to attend.

"Ark is delighted that many of our supporters will be at this very special and fun evening, and if any more want to come along, can they please contact Clarke & Son marketing manager Darren Lovegrove on 01256 320555 or email"

The well-known Basingstoke law firm, based in Winchester Road, was one of the first Our Partner corporate supporters of Ark Cancer Centre Charity in February 2015 – and the legal eagles also supported Ark’s £5million appeal, which will help to fund a unique local cancer treatment centre, in 2016-17.

Among the events that have clocked up the cash over the last year are a Charity Golf Day and a 24-hour sponsored Row to Nowhere, which saw members of the team piling on the pulling power on a static rowing machine in the firm's boardroom.

Darren Lovegrove, marketing manager at Clarke & Son, said: “Ark Cancer Centre Charity is an amazing charity that we are all passionate about.

“Raising money through The Good Exchange, where match-funding for Ark is being provided by Greenham Common Trust, helped us to achieve a fantastic result in 2016-17 – and now we have set our sights on raising even more money this year as we aim to hit a £50,000 target over the three years that we have been supporting the charity.”
