Feds on Legs gear up for Great South Run

The fabulous FedsOnLegs are gearing up for a hat-trick of Great South Runs in support of Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

In 2016 and 2017, three Basingstoke police officers piled on the miles as they took part in the Great South Run in support of Ark Cancer Centre Charity's £5million appeal - and now the team are going on the run again in 2018.

This year, Trevor Taylor and Aiden Blackwell will be joined by their colleagues Christian Reid Milligan and PCSO Rich Green as they join thousands of runners completing the 10-mile course on Sunday, October 21

Starting and finishing on Clarence Esplanade in Southsea, the fast and flat course takes the runners through Old Portsmouth, before entering the Historic Dockyard.

The course is steeped in history – some of it dating back to 1212 – and, as ever, there will be great support from local residents and spectators, as well as some entertainment from bands and dancers to help keep the runners' spirits up and the legs moving.

Mark Jones, director of fundraising and communications at Ark Cancer Centre Charity, said: "The charity is grateful to Trevor, Aiden, Christian and Rich for putting in the time and effort to train for, and take part in, the 2018 Great South Run. It's wonderful that Trevor and Aiden will be completing a hat-trick of Great South runs for Ark, and the charity is grateful to them, and their colleagues, for their great support."
