It's three in a row from Clarke & Son

They have been amazing supporters of Ark Cancer Centre Charity - and we are delighted to announce that Clarke & Son Solicitors have decided to support the charity for a third year.

Over the past two years, staff at the well-known Basingstoke law firm, based in Winchester Road, have raised thousands of pounds in support of the charity's £5million appeal which will help to fund the cancer treatment centre project.

Their 2016-17 fundraising campaign is still ongoing, and with vital match-funding support from Greenham Common Trust, through The Good Exchange portal, this figure is set to top £17,000.

Darren Lovegrove, marketing manager of Clarke & Son, said: "We are pleased to announce that we will be supporting the Ark Cancer Centre Charity again in 2017-18 as our charity of the year.

"This is an amazing charity that we are all passionate about at Clarke & Son.

"We have just gone over the magical £10,000 raised this financial year. This doesn't include funds that will be matched by the Greenham Common Trust or gift aid.

"If my calculations are right, this will take the figure to over £17,000. We are already planning on how we can beat this figure in the next year.

"A huge thank you to everyone that has supported us throughout with our fundraising efforts."

Among the events that have pulled in the pounds over the last year were a Charity Golf Day and a 24-hour sponsored Row to Nowhere which saw the team of legal eagles piling on the pulling power on a static rowing machine in the firm's boardroom.

Mark Jones, director of fundraising and communications for Ark Cancer Centre Charity, said: "The support from the Clarke & Son team has been absolutely amazing.

"They are a wonderful, friendly, fun and supportive team who have really thrown themselves into fundraising for the charity.

"To have their charity of the year backing for a third consecutive year is an honour, and a significant show of support.

"The success of their fundraising efforts in 2016-17 means they have set themselves a high target to top next year, but with their enthusiasm and commitment, there is no doubt that they will be up for the challenge.

"Thanks to everyone who has supported the Clarke & Son team so far, and we are grateful to all those who back their fundraising efforts in 2017-18."
