Lamb Brooks provide triple boost for Ark

The team at Lamb Brooks Solicitors are great supporters of Ark Cancer Centre Charity, and they have provided a triple dose of fundraising joy in June.

June 1 saw a Charity Quiz Night take place at The Tea Bar, in London Street, Basingstoke.

Organised by Lamb Brooks, and held in memory of their late former senior partner Ian Roberts, the event raised £1,228, and over £1,000 of that will be doubled once match-funding is added by Greenham Common Trust through The Good Exchange fundraising portal.

On Saturday, June 10, five fab members of the Lamb Brooks Lawnet Challenge Team pulled on their walking boots and pulled in more pounds for the charity by weathering a big challenge.

Jane Lowe, Hayley Eames, Rosie Gamble, Sophie Keene and Nikki Perryman headed up Helvellyn in the Lake District. The mountain is the highest point of the Helvellyn range, a north-south line of mountains to the north of Ambleside, between the lakes of Thirlmere and Ullswater.

The fab five had to contend with some horrendous weather so they couldn't make it to the top. However, they did cover the distance that they planned to, in spite of the driving rain and 50 mph winds.

It was certainly much better conditions when managing partner Andrew Lowe and marketing manager Hannah Mills were pictured with artist Laura Fearn and the bookbench that the company is sponsoring as part of its support for the Sitting With Jane project.

The Lamb Brooks bookbench can be seen in The Malls. It is one of a 24-strong network of professionally designed bookbenches which celebrate the life of world famous author Jane Austen, who spent most of her life in the Basingstoke area.

The bookbenches will be on display until August 31 and they will then be auctioned at The Ark Conference Centre on Friday, September 15, with 75 per cent of the proceeds going to Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

Mark Jones, director of fundraising and communications at Ark Cancer Centre Charity, said: "The charity is grateful to everyone at Lamb Brooks for their terrific ongoing support for Ark Cancer Centre Charity. Everything the team does helps to raise vital pounds and awareness, and their support is very much appreciated."
