Rotary picnic event delivers boost for Ark

Thanks to the fabulous members of The Rotary Club of Odiham and Hook for delivering another fundraising boost to Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

The Picnic in the Paddock event took place at Swan Paddock behind Albion Yard, in Hook Road, North Warnborough, on Saturday, July 21, and the well-supported evening saw those attending enjoy a feast of music as well as their food and drink.

Organised by The Rotary Club of Odiham and Hook, the event raised £2,400 which was divided between Ark Cancer Centre Charity and St Michael’s Hospice.

Brave Marie reaches for the sky - again!

A brave legal eagle is set to soar into the sky as she confronts her fear of heights for a fundraising challenge in support of Ark Cancer Centre Charity and in memory of her brother.

Marie Pym, a residential conveyancer at Clarke & Son Solicitors, will be taking on a wing walk challenge in support of Ark and its campaign to raise £5million towards a new NHS cancer treatment centre that will be built in Basingstoke.

Masonic Lodge Ladies Night boost for Ark

Ark Cancer Centre Charity is grateful for a great show of support from the Elvetham Masonic Lodge.

The Ladies Night of the Elvetham Masonic Lodge raised nearly £6,000 when it was held at the Apollo Hotel in Basingstoke last month.

The black-tie event was to celebrate the end of the year of office for the Worshipful Master of the Basingstoke Lodge, Warren Snook.

With his wife Lisa and sons Oscar and Reuben, Warren was the driving force behind the event which saw 160 people enjoy a three-course dinner and a great evening of entertainment.

Connecting Biz boost for Ark

Thanks to all the lovely people who came along to today's Connecting Biz networking event and delivered another fundraising boost for Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

Ark was the chosen charity to benefit from the proceeds raised at the raffle at the July Connecting Biz event which took place at Barton's Mill Restaurant in Old Basing.

Basingstones game is a World Cup winner for Ark

England may have sadly fallen short of the ultimate prize but Ark Cancer Centre Charity was a World Cup winner thanks to a Basingstoke businessman.

Kevin White, director of Fortem Financial Education, painted 11 stones in the flags and names of World Cup teams and he and his team of helpers then hid them in different locations around Basingstoke.

Basingstoke Rotary hand over £7,500 cheque

It's a suitably big cheque for a big donation.

Mark Jones, director of fundraising and communications at Ark Cancer Centre Charity, is pictured (left) receiving a £7,500 donation from Mark Flower, President of the Rotary Club of Basingstoke.

The cheque presentation took place at the club's latest meeting at Dummer Golf Club, and a similar sum was handed over to Home-Start North West Hampshire.

Both charities were the major beneficiaries of a successful fundraising Charity Dinner that Basingstoke Rotary put on at Audley's Wood Hotel in Basingstoke in April.

Clarke & Son on course for fundraising goal

A successful Charity Golf Day has put the dynamic team at a Basingstoke law firm on course for another year of fabulous fundraising.

Clarke & Son Solicitors, based in Winchester Road, was one of the first Our Partner corporate supporters of Ark Cancer Centre Charity in February 2015 – and since then, they have raised £55,000 for Ark’s campaign to help fund a much-needed local cancer treatment centre.

Ark is Clarke & Son’s Charity of the Year again in 2018-19, and the team have set themselves a £15,000 fundraising target over the 12 months.

Show of support from Live 2 Dance Academy

Live 2 Dance Academy’s 2018 showcase event will also be a great show of support for Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

Ark will receive a share of the profits from ticket sales to the group’s Live 2 Dance 2018 show which will take place at the Haymarket Theatre, in Basingstoke, on Saturday, July 28 at 7.30pm.

It will be a wonderfully entertaining evening as the cast members, whose age range spans five to 50, take to the stage and perform a great variety of music and dance styles.

Arkriders beat the heat and raise over £8,750

The heat was well and truly on last weekend – but the fabulous Arkriders once again proved they’ve got what it takes when it comes to rising to a cycling challenge to support Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

They’ve piled on the pedal power from John O’Groats to Land’s End, London to Brighton, and from Basingstoke to Paris – and now they’ve added the Bournemouth Beano to their list of achievements.
