Half-marathon runners go the extra mile

It was a great day with some wonderful people - a big thank-you to all our Ark Cancer Centre Charity supporters who ran in yesterday's Destination Basingstoke Phillips Half-Marathon.

There were familiar faces and some new recruits in the charity's 2016 team - and all of them, and their supporters, have made a difference to the charity's £5million fundraising campaign.

Ark sponsors first Bison home game

Ark Cancer Centre Charity was delighted to sponsor the first home game of the season as the Sherfield School Basingstoke Bison gear up to defend their English Premier league title.

 

London Clancy team pull in the pounds

They wanted to do something to make a difference – and by piling on the miles, the team at London Clancy have succeeded in blazing a trail for two good causes.

Step Up 4 Good

Match-funding support from Greenham Common Trust (GCT) is key to the success of Ark Cancer Centre Charity's campaign to raise £5million towards a unique local cancer treatment centre.

GCT is providing match-funding support up to £500,000, and many Ark Cancer Centre Charity supporters have channelled their donations through this portal.

Cyclists are cancer centre Champions!

A team of fundraisers are cancer charity champions after completing a cycling challenge in support of a £5million fundraising campaign.

The 24-strong Team Champion The Wacky Riders were among thousands of cyclists who took part in Bike 4 Cancer’s 58-mile London to Brighton bike ride on Sunday.

The cyclists were all raising money for Ark Cancer Centre Charity, which is helping to fund a unique local cancer treatment centre in the Basingstoke area – and the fantastic fundraisers, and their supporters, have really made a big difference to the charity’s £5m appeal.

Ed and Amie pile on the miles

The dynamic duo of Ed Lowman and Amie Frayne are celebrating after completing the first half of a long-distance running double in support of Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

On Sunday, Ed and Amie took part in the New Forest Marathon - crossing the finish line in just over four hours.

Ed and his girlfriend won't be resting on their laurels though, and in just over two weeks, the pair will be piling on the miles for the charity in the Bournemouth Half-Marathon on October 2.

Shaun bowls in with support for Team Champion

A team of cyclists will be looking good for a fundraising challenge in support of Ark Cancer Centre Charity – thanks to former England and Hampshire cricket star Shaun Udal.

Shaun’s Cotton Graphics company has supplied the shirts that will be worn by the 26-strong members of Team Champion The Wacky Riders on the Bike 4 Cancer London to Brighton bike ride on Sunday.

Actor James Bye backs Ark Cancer Centre Charity fundraisers

He's become a household name – and now Basingstoke-born actor James Bye is hoping to help a local good cause by giving his high-profile backing to a team of cyclists supporting a cancer charity’s £5million fundraising campaign.

James, who plays Martin Fowler in the popular BBC soap EastEnders, is backing Team Champion The Wacky Riders – a 26-strong group of fundraisers who will be taking part in a London to Brighton bike ride in support of Ark Cancer Centre Charity.
