Basingstoke Town FC’s big show of support for cancer charity

Fans and directors of Basingstoke Town FC have given a trailblazing show of support to a local good cause by agreeing to rename their ground as the Ark Cancer Charity Stadium for next season.

The significant backing for the charity is believed to be the first time that a club in the football league pyramid have renamed their stadium after a charity for a whole season.Support for the proposal, which will be part of a partnership between the club and charity for the 2016-17 season, came at an end-of-season fans’ forum on May 6.

Champion result for Ark at Basingstoke RFC

Ark Cancer Centre Charity achieved a winning result at Basingstoke Rugby Football Club thanks to some generous support from all involved in the auction of a special sporting memento.

Champion Group, 'Stoke's main sponsor, hosted their annual sponsored match at the Down Grange club on Saturday.

Legals eagles enjoy a soaraway success

Adventurous staff at a Basingstoke law firm are celebrating an impressive achievement after pulling in the pounds for a charity that is raising vital funds for a unique local cancer treatment centre.

The team at Clarke & Son Solicitors made Ark Cancer Centre Charity their charity of the year for 2015, and several members of the team really threw themselves into fundraising challenges to support the good cause.

A Basingstoke comedienne and her comedy club audience have delivered a boost to Ark Cancer Centre Charity’s fundraising appeal.

 

Festival Place team make a big difference

The team at Festival Place shopping centre in Basingstoke have marked the success of a two-year fundraising campaign for Ark Cancer Centre Charity with the presentation of a very large cheque. The actual amount raised – £20,445.01 – certainly merited the size of the big cheque that was handed to Trustee Merv Rees by Centre Director Steven Connolly and his team.

Support the JOGLE16 cyclists

A group of our fantastic supporters will be cycling from John O'Groats to Land's End between July 2 and July 12, 2016 - and they'll be joined on the final three-day leg from Basingstoke by some fellow fundraisers.

A Night of All That Jazz and Sensational Soul boosts Mayor’s Charity Appeal

The Clive Fortune Big Band and soul singer Natasha Watts and her band were the shining stars in a special one-off concert at The Anvil on Saturday, March 5 - delivering a great boost to this year’s Mayor's Charity Appeal.

The special one-off concert pulled in the pounds for Ark Cancer Centre Charity, Inspero and Basingstoke Multicultural Forum - the three charities that will benefit from the appeal being championed by Basingstoke and Deane Mayro Councillor Anne Court. 

Great show of support from AXA Wealth

AXA Wealth’s employees have vowed to make a stand against cancer with a two-year programme of fundraising activities for Ark Cancer Centre Charity .

Employees at the Basingstoke-based company were first invited to nominate local charities they’d like to see the company support for the next two years, with the final four going to a company-wide vote - and Ark Cancer Centre Charity won the support of the majority of employees.
