Great support from Basingstoke Deane Rotarians

Ark Cancer Centre Charity has received another great show of support from The Rotary Club of Basingstoke Deane.

More than 20 charities and community projects have benefitted from cash backing from the Basingstoke Deane Rotarians over the last 12 months – and when match-funding is taken into account, the total sum of support will be around £75,000.

At the annual Charities Night, Basingstoke Deane President Paul Temple presented the club’s final donations for 2015-16 to representatives of several organisations, including Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

Top Basingstoke chef’s recipe for helping young talent and a good cause

After the success of last year’s Master Chef competition with students at Basingstoke College of Technology, award-winning pub chef Gordon Stott is back in search of 2016’s rising culinary talent.

The 25-year-old landlord and head chef at award-winning gastro pub, The Sun Inn, Dummer, is giving three trainee chefs the chance to compete in a cooking competition on Wednesday, June 29, that will raise money for Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

Jewellery fundraiser is a real gem

The daughter of Ark Cancer Centre Charity trustee Merv Rees came up with a gem of an idea to support her dad’s fundraising campaign. 

Vicky Hannah put on a jewellery fundraiser in Odiham. The jewellery on sale and display was provided by Stella & Dot. Tory Leporiere, from the company, kindly donated money from sales at the event to the charity, and a raffle which offered the chance to win a minimum of £70 worth of jewellery added to the total raised.

Basingstoke Town FC’s big show of support for cancer charity

Fans and directors of Basingstoke Town FC have given a trailblazing show of support to a local good cause by agreeing to rename their ground as the Ark Cancer Charity Stadium for next season.

The significant backing for the charity is believed to be the first time that a club in the football league pyramid have renamed their stadium after a charity for a whole season.Support for the proposal, which will be part of a partnership between the club and charity for the 2016-17 season, came at an end-of-season fans’ forum on May 6.
