Lois auctions Jane Austen painting for Ark

She created one of the wonderful Sitting With Jane bookbenches that were sold on September 15 – and now artist Lois Cordelia is delivering an additional boost to Ark Cancer Centre Charity by selling a painting of Jane Austen.

Prolific artist and illustrator Lois painted a picture of the world-famous author on a medium-size canvas at the auction – and her work of art is now being sold in a separate online auction on eBay.

Lois painted the ‘Look Upon Verdure’ bookbench, which was on display in Overton during the trail. It was bought for £6,750 by Laura and Matt Haystaff and is now in pride of place in The Topiary Salon, in Old Basing.

Lois said: “I have really enjoyed being involved in the Sitting With Jane event, and have been delighted that so many people have been able to visit and enjoy seeing my bookbench in Overton. I am also thrilled that it now has a marvellous new home in The Topiary Salon.

“There was a lot of interest in the live painting that I did at the auction so I hope this additional work of art will help to raise more money for Ark Cancer Centre Charity.”

Ark Cancer Centre Charity trustee Merv Rees said: “The charity is very grateful to Lois for her kind and generous support.”

Lois' Jane Austen painting is being auctioned over the next 10 days. To view it and place a bid, go to http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152727956395…
