Festival Place team make a big difference

The team at Festival Place shopping centre in Basingstoke have marked the success of a two-year fundraising campaign for Ark Cancer Centre Charity with the presentation of a very large cheque. The actual amount raised – £20,445.01 – certainly merited the size of the big cheque that was handed to Trustee Merv Rees by Centre Director Steven Connolly and his team.

Seasonal singing

Seasonal singing from borough choirs and donations from generous shoppers delivered a festive boost to the Mayor’s Charity Appeal.

On Saturday, December 5, several choirs from across the borough brought some additional Christmas spirit to Festival Place.

Fangs for the donations

Generous members of the public enjoyed some Hallowe'en fun in Festival Place and delivered a boost to Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

People taking part in spooktacular events in the Basingstoke shopping centre over the Hallowe'en weekend donated more than £360 to the charity, which has been adopted by the Festival Place team as their Charity of the Year.

Festival Place Team takes to the sky

Four members of staff from Festival Place – Sean Taylor, Sarah Killingback, Ieva Bajorinaite and Jo Lush – took part in the charity skydive at the Old Sarum Airfield in Salisbury for the Ark Cancer Centre Charity on August 9, raising over £1,300 for the cause.

Sarah Killingback, guest host manager at Festival Place, said: “It was an amazing experience and doing it for charity made it so much more worthwhile.

Taking the town by Storm

The fundraising Force was strong in Basingstoke's Festival Place at the weekend as nearly £1,300 was raised for Ark Cancer Centre Charity at a special Star Wars event.
Generous visitors to Festival Place put donations in collection buckets in exchange for having a photo taken with Stormtroopers and other characters from the popular UK Garrison.
