It's the start of a beautiful relationship – growing beauty salon business Truly Scrumptious has chosen Ark Cancer Centre Charity as its Charity of the Year.
The thriving chain, which now has salons in five north Hampshire towns, will be supporting the charity over the next 12 months, and the team will be kick-starting the partnership with a fundraising push during December.
During 2016, the Truly Scrumptious salons in Basingstoke, Andover, Overton, Farnborough and Fleet, will be running a number of campaigns to help raise funds and awareness for the charity, including offers, prize draws and competitions, as well as being heavily involved in a charity cycle ride from John O’Groats to Land’s End in July 2016.
Speaking about the tie-up with the charity, Truly Scrumptious owner Claire Killick said: “In the salons, our teams have very close relationships with some clients, and stories relating to cancer are never far away. “Although some of these are tinged with sadness, we also get to hear positive stories that show how strong people can be. Ark Cancer Centre Charity is a great cause for us to be involved with both for raising money and also awareness. The charity and planned centre covers a similar area to us – from Andover to Farnborough – so this is something that will benefit people in the communities that we work in.”
Ark Cancer Centre Charity trustee Merv Rees said: “I am very grateful to Claire and the team at the Truly Scrumptious salons for their show of support.
“It is heartening that people in so many local businesses are keen to get involved in supporting the fundraising appeal and in raising awareness of the cancer treatment centre project, and it is great to have the Truly Scrumptious salons on board.”
