Massage Therapies

Massage has been practiced in most cultures throughout history and was one of the earliest tools that people used to try and relieve pain. Our massage therapists will apply different massage techniques to areas of the body to ease pressure and tension in the soft tissues.

Massage therapies can help to - alleviate pain and tension, reduce stress and anxiety and promote relaxation.

Aromatherapy may provide relief from a wide range of symptoms – anxiety/stress, pain relief, nausea, insomnia, menopausal symptoms.

Reflexology

There are reflex points on the feet, lower leg, hands, face and ears which correspond to specific organs and systems of the body. Reflexologists work these points by gently massaging and manipulating, which helps to restore balance of the pathological pathways.

Reflexology can help with stress/anxiety, pain, insomnia and improve general sense of wellbeing.

Acupuncture

& Electroacupuncture

Acupuncture involves putting fine needles into the body at specific points, this releases the natural morphine-like substances which relieves pain. The needles stay in place for a short time before a practitioner removes them.

Acupuncture works by stimulating nerves and releasing natural morphine-like substances (endorphins) in the spinal cord and brain which relieve pain. It also releases serotonin, a natural pain reliever which can promote a feeling of wellbeing.

Acupuncture is used to treat a wide range of conditions including hot flushes, insomnia, tiredness/fatigue, breathlessness, menopausal symptoms and pain relief.

Additionally, our professionals have the appropriate training and certification in electroacupuncture techniques. The benefit of electroacupuncture is that it can cover a larger area of the body than traditional acupuncture.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a technique used to help the treatment of swollen lymph nodes. It is a light skin-stretching massage that helps promote the movement of lymphatic fluid out of the swollen limb.

MLD is specifically focused on the lymph vessels to help the flow of lymphatic fluid and is effective both as a preventative treatment and as a post operative treatment.
